Micropigmentation is a term for cosmetic tattooing, the implantation of pigments into the dermal layers of the skin and are currently enjoying a significant increase in popularity. The results? Perfectly natural looking, thick or thin, full brows. Brow Microblading is a manual “hand” method and has a row of several fine needles to create thin hair like marks in the skin and I’m using a range of LCN brand organic pigment (nickle free). Microblading implants pigments into the upper layer of the dermis (just below epidermis) and depending on your skin type and lifestyle, the pigment will fade slowly over 18-24 months.
Microbladed brows have a unique hair stroke look so this would suit you if you have over plucked brows or if you suffer from thinning hair due to menopause or medication, or just have naturally sparse eyebrows.
No down time is required after Microblading procedure and you can even pop to the shops (if you don’t mind a little redness). It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over so no swimming or sports (great excuse), and about 1 month for the colour to fully set in. You’ll notice the colour is very light right after the two weeks after healing and requires a touch up (price includes this) 6 weeks after your initial treatment.
I often get asked “Does it hurt?” – Microblading is more uncomfortable than painful, although this will of course depend on your pain threshold. But, with numbing cream applied obtained from ACT Fast, you’ll probably be able to deal with it much more effectively.
A.C.T.fast is safe and legal in the UK. A.C.T.fast restricts bleeding during micropigmentation treatments. When A.C.T.fast is used topically during micropigmentation treatments, it acts as a vasoconstrictor to reduce bleeding resulting in superior pigment retention, improved healing and can aid in client comfort. Topical anaesthetics (such as Emla) are used to pre-numb and should not be used on broken skin. It is a UK product obtained via a prescription from GMC doctors and RGN prescribers.
Please allow 2 hours for first treatment (actual microblading time approx 15 mins per brow) and 1 hour for the second treatment. Strictly no under 18’s I’m afraid.
